The development of a programme of capital works is often one of the most complex and time consuming tasks undertaken by an Asset Management Department. Most commonly, the starting point will be data collected as part of a Stock Condition Survey. Although we are well versed in creating programmes based on our own data, we have developed methodologies for working with a clients own data, in a variety of different systems. It is crucial that the development of any programme is specifically tailored for that particular client's needs. We recognise the need to work closely together to ensure that any capital programme reflects not only the condition of the stock, but also any legislative requirements, current or future policies, and most importantly residents needs and expectations.
Many of our existing clients hold their own stock condition database, populated with data that has been collected internally, or from a variety of sources. When dealing with the day-to-day pressures of Asset Management, it is often easy to over look ensuring the long-term accuracy of data within your Stock Condition database. We would normally recommend that any live database is subject to an annual review to help ensure not only the accuracy of the data, but also that the structure and use of the database reflects the clients intended policies for the future. We would look to work with you to ensure your database is fit for purpose for the next 12 months and beyond.
In addition to performing/assisting clients with annual database health checks, it is sometimes necessary to assess the validity of a database that may not have been subject to a full validation for some time. We can provide you with the knowledge and experience that will enable you to bring your database back into a live environment, and become once more a dependable tool on which your staff can rely.
